1. The agreement

These Terms of Service ("Terms") form a binding agreement between you and the developer of Sauna Metrics. Apple's Standard EULA for Licensed Application End User License, available at apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula, also applies to your use of the App Store version. Where these Terms and Apple's EULA conflict, Apple's EULA prevails.

2. Your license

We grant you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive license to install and use Sauna Metrics on Apple devices that you own or control, in line with the App Store usage rules. You may not reverse engineer, redistribute, or attempt to extract source code from the app.

3. Not a medical device

Sauna Metrics is not a medical device. The score, sweat-loss estimates, calorie estimates, core temperature estimates, and any health-related calculations the app produces are approximations for informational use only. They are not diagnoses. They are not treatment guidance. They are not a substitute for consultation with a qualified healthcare professional.

Sauna use carries inherent risk — including dehydration, heat injury, fainting, and cardiovascular events. By using this app you acknowledge that you assume all risks associated with sauna use and that you have consulted, or will consult, a doctor before starting heat-exposure protocols if you have any condition that may be affected by them. This includes but is not limited to: cardiovascular disease, hypertension, pregnancy, recent surgery, neurological conditions, and any medication affecting blood pressure, hydration, or thermoregulation.

4. Subscriptions and payments

If the app offers paid features, payment is processed by Apple under your Apple ID. Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage and cancel subscriptions in Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions on iOS, or System Settings → Apple ID → Media & Purchases on macOS. Refunds are governed by Apple's policy.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the app to harm yourself or others, not to share account credentials (the app does not have user accounts; this exists for completeness), and not to use the app in any way that violates applicable law.

6. Intellectual property

All app code, design, branding, copy, and the camel-with-detective-hat icon are owned by us. You may take screenshots for personal use and share them; you may not reuse our visual identity to brand other products.

7. Disclaimer of warranties

The app is provided "as is" and "as available". To the maximum extent allowed by law, we disclaim all warranties — express or implied — including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any specific health outcome will result from its use.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, in no event will we be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the app. Our total aggregate liability for any direct damages is limited to the amount you paid us for the app in the 12 months preceding the claim, or US$50, whichever is greater.

Some jurisdictions do not allow these limitations; in those jurisdictions our liability is limited to the smallest extent permitted by law.

9. Termination

You may stop using the app at any time by deleting it from your device. We may terminate your license if you materially breach these Terms. Sections 3, 7, 8, and 10 survive termination.

10. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the developer is established, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Mandatory consumer-protection laws of your country of residence still apply where they cannot be waived.

11. Changes

We may update these Terms. If changes are material, we will surface them in the app and update the effective date here. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
